Banality of Blogging

Blogging is quite hard – it requires writing down your thoughts in a way susceptible for others to understand. Atleast, you usually want to move beyond keywords and write actual sentences. I also try to look for bad spelling, improve grammar, and implement my blogging using infrastructure which will enable the blog to survive for a long time.

However, what is the reward? In the space of everything I can write, most things are not original. This is the banality of blogging – most written things, most blog posts, and even most thoughts are quite unoriginal. This is unexciting – and we need excitement to really live.

How do we move past this bane of banality? The obvious solution is to cultivate originality. If banality is a consequence of unoriginality – originality is the antidote. And yes, this is true. The next question, then, is how do we cultivate originality?
